Ruleset

The Pantheon Inaugural will make use of the Electronic Sports League (ESL) Counter-strike Global Offensive ruleset that is currently being employed in the ESL A-Series. However, there will be some noted differences. The sections of the ruleset applicable to the ESL Matchmaking System will not be used. Other sections of the ruleset that are specific to the ESL system will also fall under the category of not applicable .

The tournament director reserves the right to make the final decision regarding all matters, and it is expected that all players will conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. Decisions regarding each situation will be made in an entirely transparent manner and explained to teams accordingly. Pantheon administration also reserves the right to use discretion regarding infringement of rules and subsequent penalties to ensure the rules are applied in context.

Tournament Specific Rules

• 4 Grenades in total, 2 Flashes possible
• cl_bobcycle 0.98 (standard)
• weapon_debug_spread_show forbidden (has to be 0)
• weapon_recoil_model (do not use or alter)
• mat_hdr_level (do not use or alter)
• Use of exploits, bugs, skywalking, sharking, unsportsmanlike behaviour, abuse will not be tolerated.*
• Use of Molotov / Incendiary grenades banned.**
• Players are required to record a POV of every match, and may be required to provide this on request of an administrator. Possible disqualification will apply to  the team of those unable to provide a match POV. It is your responsibility to ensure that each of your team mates are recording for the duration of their matches.
• Screenshots from each side are required at half time, and full time of each match. Failure to provide these will attract possible penalties.
• Matches will be forced live if 10mins has passed since the scheduled start time. This is to ensure that the tournament runs as smoothly possible whilst remaining on time.
• In the group stages, teams will contest in a knife round to decide teams, and will act as directed by an administrator prior to the commencement of the match.
• If a player drops during a match, the game may only be paused by an administrator. The game may only be paused for a maximum of 3 minutes before it is to be resumed.  A team may however substitute using a registered 6th player if they have one available to them.
• In the event of a server crash, administrators will follow ESL protocol as outlined in their ruleset.
• All disputes raised with an administrator will be dealt with as soon as possible.

Teams will once again face off in a One Day Competition format comprising of a group stage, with the top teams progressing through to a single elimination bracket. These teams will battle it out for $1000 in prizes. With the final prize pool yet to be confirmed, we can announce that so far we have accrued

This tournament is open to Australia & New Zealand players only. All teams are required to make a $50 deposit for your tournament entry via PayPal. This amount will be refunded in its entirety upon the completion of your scheduled matches. In the event your team is unable to field the required 5 players to participate in a scheduled match, your deposit will be kept. This is in the interest of those truly serious about serious competition – everyone deserves the game they signed up for.

Placed in Group 1, they swept through the group stages easily topping their group. Their push through the 4 team single elimination bracket brough them up against Avant managing to dispose of them over two maps. They were tested on de_inferno_se coming out eventual victors 16-13, however dotted their t’s and crossed their eyes, locking down the second map de_dust2_se, 16-2.

With the stage set for an intensely contested final, The Merchants of Death descended in to the final with the confidence of also having a strong run through the field of opposition. The two teams met in the grand final, which promised to be a clash of the titans. Vox started strong on de_dust2_se piling on rounds as the Merchants stood by. It was not all one way traffic as MoD managed to stage a mid game fightback, however it was short lived as Vox Eminor tightened the screws on their opponents, taking out the map 16-8.

Moving on to the second map of the final, MoD were faced with a difficult task of steering the final toward a third and decisive map. Vox again proved strong in the early rounds, stretching their lead gradually as the rounds ticked over. A few moments of individual brilliance claimed Merchants of Deat h some valuable rounds, however Vox Eminor had the end in sight as they closed out the half 12-3. Staring down the barell of defeat, MoD fought valiantly however this was not to be their day with Vox Eminor running away to a 16-5 scoreline, and thanks to our generous sponsors Mwave.com.au, Western Digital and Shuttle, taking home $1250 for their day’s efforts. Merchants of Death did not leave empty handed either, as they pocketed a tidy sum of $500 in cash.

In the Consolation final, Team Immunity and Avant battled it out for $250. The matches were nail bitingly close, with the full 3 maps being needed to separate these two teams. Avant eventually brought home the bacon as they closed out the deciding map, after some late server difficulty.

Anti Cheat

Thanks to Talnoy and Cybergamer, The Pantheon Inaugural will be using the Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) Client for all matches on the day. This of course, means that all participants are expected to have an updated, working version of EAC. When loading the client, please ensure that you select the Australia, then Cybergamer server provider.

Players who are unable to run the EAC client will unfortunately be unable to participate. If a player / team is found to be bypassing EAC then they can expect to be removed from the competition, no exceptions. Players found to be cheating in the competition can expect to have themselves dealt with accordingly, including bans from competing at future Pantheon events.

Rosters and Team Confirmation

A couple of teams have spoken to me in the week regarding roster changes and lineups. As far as lineup changes are concerned, I am happy to accommodate those who need to change rosters (within reason),  up until Saturday evening at 5pm. After such time, rosters will remain locked. If you need to change a player, please contact me via steam.

As a few teams have pulled out recently, I require all teams to confirm their attendance , which you can do by posting in this thread. Please also visit the 16 team lineup thread in related posts to ensure that your team’s lineup is up to date before the rosters are locked.

The spot had previously belonged to team rtk.ob who were also the first team to follow the registration requirements on our initial anouncement, but pulled out last week with a notification left by one of their members. We approached the first team on our reserves list, deStiny’s team iMmunity side, who had earlier submitted an incomplete registration and in this instance was not able to field a team.

For these reasons registration for this spot is now open to all teams. I would like to remind interested teams that there is a $2000 cash prize pool thanks to our sponsors Mwave.com.au, Western Digital and Shuttle. The event date is Sunday, 28 October 2012.
